Heather R. Higgins

President and CEO

Heather’s background is in finance, public policy, and media, all happily combined with an inclination to make trouble. She works with a variety of non-profits, including the Independent Women’s Forum (IWF), of which she is chairman, and it’s related qualified c4, Independent Women’s Voice (IWV), where she serves as President and CEO. She writes, most frequently for the Wall Street Journal where she used to be an editorial writer, and does television and radio discussing primarily public policy and politics.

For most of 2009 Heather was involved in helping with the health care pushback. In January 2010, in an independent expenditure in Massachusetts designed to close the 30-point gender gap, define the Scott Brown race as a referendum on health care, and drive turnout, IWV pursued a below-the-radar strategy of extensive radio and phones. IWV continues to be active in promoting real reform and opposing a government takeover of health care.
